Amanda AhlDegree in Progress: MS in Molecular Biology
Specialty: Admin girl. Code girl. Gotta get out of here girl. Research Specifics: She's looking at telomerase in Allium cepa to see if it's present by using her bioinformatics skills to create an alignment of the telomerase protein in over 15 different species. She's then creating primers for asymmetrical PCR based on her alignment and testing to see if any will bind to the onion's DNA. Teaching Experience: She began teaching in 2011, serving as the youngest TA in the Biology department, and has now instructed 7 different lab courses over the span of 10 quarters, focusing most of her time with Anatomy and Physiology before branching out to Molecular Biology and Animal Biology. |
